How can we safely watch the world’s largest land predator from such short distances?
This amazing opportunity is thanks to some ingenious planning by the former owner, visionary conservationist Rishard Hojohn. He carefully placed his cabins right next to (but not on) natural bear trails that run through the 160-acre property. These trails run through forest just above the edge of a favorite tidal sedge meadow. The sedge field is the bears’s favorite grazing spot for most of the summer.
Watch the bears through huge picture windows, through doors that we open for a few moments as the bears amble past, or from a high porch beyond the reach of even the tallest bear.
Take guided walks in the big sedge meadow that the bears love. We’ll also take you to our two private salmon runs when the fish are spawning.
All viewing angles from the cabins are unobstructed by any manmade objects or obstacles. When the bears wander into range, your camera will capture them in a setting of pristine nature.
